Assistant Accountant (Remote)

About the role

MechTech Solutions is seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to support its property‑management projects on a remote basis. The role involves ensuring project budgets are respected, financial transactions are accurately recorded, and regular reporting is delivered to management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain project budget forecasts, actuals and variance analyses.
• Monitor project expenditures and verify compliance with approved budgets.
• Review and approve invoices, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and contractors.
• Produce monthly financial performance reports for management review.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Collaborate with project managers to provide cost‑control insights and financial planning support.
• Perform reconciliations of project accounts as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for audit purposes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in project accounting or a comparable finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and project‑management finance.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
