Assistant Commercial Manager - Quantity Surveyor

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Commercial Manager-Quantity Surveyor to join its Project Management Consulting team in AlUla, Saudi Arabia. The role supports commercial and contractual matters across the project lifecycle, from pre-contract planning through post-contract execution, working with senior management, contractors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation for pre-contract phases
• Review contractor submissions, quotations and proposals for commercial viability
• Assist in contract administration, including change orders, claims processing and compliance monitoring
• Track project costs against approved budgets and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare commercial reports, cost analyses and financial summaries for stakeholders
• Analyse supplier proposals and negotiate commercial terms for procurement
• Maintain documentation for contracts, agreements and commercial correspondence
• Carry out quantity surveys and measurements to verify work completion and support payment certifications
• Help resolve commercial disputes and claims, and support financial forecasts and cash flow projections

Required profile

• Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation or commercial management in construction or engineering
• Strong knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract processes, contract administration and commercial negotiations
• Experience with quantity surveying software and project management tools
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication
• Preferred: experience on Middle East or Saudi Arabian projects, and familiarity with local regulations and commercial practices
