Assistant Cook – On‑site role in Jeddah

About the role

The Assistant Cook will work on‑site in Jeddah, supporting the head cook and kitchen team to deliver high‑quality meals. This contract position involves basic food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting during service while adhering to safety and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Wash, peel, cut, and portion ingredients according to recipes.
• Prepare basic components such as sauces, salads, and garnishes.
• Assist the cook during meal service, ensuring timely delivery of dishes.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and proper storage procedures.
• Handle kitchen tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and follow instructions from senior chefs.

Required profile

• Foundational cooking skills and basic food preparation knowledge.
• Understanding of common ingredients and standard kitchen equipment.
• Awareness of food safety, hygiene practices, and proper storage techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately with attention to portion control and presentation.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Physical capacity to stand for long periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a hot environment.
• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not mandatory.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
