Assistant Manager – Strategic Planning & Performance

About the role

The Assistant Manager will lead the strategic planning and performance function for DevCo Operations, shaping business strategy, overseeing multi‑year planning cycles and driving operational excellence across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development, refresh and review of the DevCo Operations business strategy.
• Oversee annual and three‑year business planning cycles with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Prepare, submit and review the annual budget in partnership with Finance.
• Maintain the Strategic Initiatives Register, tracking progress and benefits.
• Conduct operational efficiency analyses and develop business cases for improvement initiatives.
• Design and manage a strategic performance framework, delivering Quarterly Business Review analyses.
• Prepare executive‑level reports, papers and presentations to support senior decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering or related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience, with at least 4 years in corporate strategy, business planning, performance management or management consulting, preferably in complex project delivery environments.

Required skills

• Expert proficiency in corporate strategy development and implementation.
• Advanced capability in business analysis, options appraisal and scenario modelling.
• Strong expertise in KPI framework design and performance management.
• Executive communication and presentation design skills for senior stakeholders.
