Assistant Resident Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer (Mechanical) to support the delivery of water storage and related mechanical works in AlUla. The role involves supervising construction activities, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical construction activities for water storage tanks and associated systems.
• Review mechanical drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical submissions.
• Monitor installation of pipelines, pumps, valves, fittings, chambers and related equipment.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Coordinate mechanical works with civil, structural, electrical and utility disciplines.
• Oversee pressure testing, flushing, disinfection, testing and commissioning activities.
• Review and manage WIRs, MIRs, RFIs, NCRs and other project documentation.
• Resolve site‑related mechanical issues and provide technical support.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to HSE and quality procedures.
• Assist the Resident Engineer with progress monitoring, reporting, project close‑out and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical, water and infrastructure projects.
• Strong experience with water storage tanks, pumping systems, pipelines and valve installations.
• Previous PMC/consultancy experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
