Assistant Resident Engineer – Ras Al Khair

About the role

Bechtel is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to supervise field construction activities in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia. The role reports to the resident engineering team and ensures that work complies with specifications, schedules and budgets while supporting the delivery of large‑scale civil infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct contractor activities, subcontractors and on‑site personnel.
• Determine workforce requirements and coordinate operational plans for the assigned discipline.
• Monitor work quality, ensure the latest design documents are used, and approve design changes before implementation.
• Prepare daily progress reports, personnel forecasts and expenditure forecasts.
• Review material requisitions, ensure tools and consumables are available for productive work.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with specifications, schedules and safety standards.
• Implement client and Bechtel safety policies, promote the Zero Accident Philosophy and participate in safety meetings.
• Apply Six Sigma tools and analysis to improve construction processes.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering.
• 8‑14 years of construction experience, preferably on multi‑discipline mega projects.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and conducting daily safety and quality inspections for roads, bridges, utilities and drainage works.
• Familiarity with ES&H handbooks, Bechtel standard work procedures and contract documents.
• Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
• Previous Middle‑East project experience on large civil infrastructure.
