ASU & Utilities Field Operator

About the role

The ASU & Utilities Field Operator is a key member of the Operations & Maintenance team at NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, responsible for day‑to‑day operation of the Air Separation Unit and associated utilities. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient plant performance while supporting shutdowns and training new operators.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the ASU, cooling water system, demineralized water plant, instrument air plant, water treatment and nitrogen pipeline.
• Perform daily and monthly routines in line with operation manuals, safety policies and site‑specific procedures.
• Take process samples, apply LOTO procedures, and maintain overall plant housekeeping.
• Provide field troubleshooting, support the O&M team, and lead shutdown activities.
• Update operating documents, assist with MOC, BPs, SWIMs and JSAs, and train new field operators.
• Work rotating shifts, be on call as required, and ensure compliance with EH&S standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of plant field operation experience in industrial gas, chemical, refining or related industries.
• Strong safety focus with willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays and be on call.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Handling PFDs, P&IDs, Single Line Diagrams and Shutdown Matrix.
• Basic computer proficiency – Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Experience with work permits and LOTO processes.
• ASU operation knowledge (preferred).
• Utilities plant operation experience (preferred).
