Audit Special Projects Expert

About the role

The Audit Special Projects Expert will strengthen the Public Investment Fund’s (PIF) audit capacity by leading advanced data‑analytics, AI/ML and automation initiatives across its portfolio companies. This senior role combines technical audit expertise with strategic governance to ensure high‑quality, low‑disruption audit engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of data‑analytics, AI/ML and automation tools, including script quality and anomaly‑detection models, to support continuous auditing and risk assessment.
• Develop and implement IT General Controls (ITGC), cybersecurity and incident‑response governance structures that meet global regulatory standards.
• Advise on multiple concurrent or complex audit engagements, enhancing governance, control environment and audit culture.
• Oversee day‑to‑day project management of audit engagements, ensuring timely, on‑budget delivery of high‑quality assurance and advice.
• Coordinate regularly with portfolio company management and audit teams to monitor progress and address corrective actions.
• Create guidelines and supporting materials to streamline audit processes for portfolio companies.
• Manage sourcing, qualification and partnership with leading audit organisations to provide supplemental resources as needed.
• Ensure compliance with technology audit standards, internal policies and applicable laws, and address QAIP feedback to improve engagement quality.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in internal audit, preferably within large investment or sovereign‑wealth‑fund environments.
• Proven ability to lead data‑analytics, AI/ML and automation projects in an audit context.
• Strong knowledge of ITGC, cybersecurity frameworks and incident‑response best practices.
• Demonstrated skill in managing multiple high‑complexity audit engagements simultaneously.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills to liaise with senior management and audit teams.
