Backend Software Engineer – Remote Contract

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to join a global leader in software development on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while building and maintaining high‑performance backend services that power critical applications for worldwide users.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy robust backend services using modern frameworks.
• Implement and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs and data pipelines.
• Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability for a global audience.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Debug and resolve production issues with a focus on uptime.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing backend systems with Python, Java, or Go.
• Hands‑on experience with RESTful and GraphQL API development.
• Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP or Azure and container orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
