BMS Technician – Engineering

About the role

The Building Management System (BMS) Technician will support daily engineering and maintenance operations at Jumeirah Jabal Omar, ensuring the hotel’s BMS runs efficiently and reliably. This role combines hands‑on hardware work, software configuration, and integration with the hotel’s IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the Building Management System to support hotel engineering activities.
• Install, program, configure, and troubleshoot BMS hardware and software according to approved points lists and wiring diagrams.
• Commission and test BMS software, controllers, sensors, and field devices both onsite and remotely.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and fault diagnosis to ensure system reliability.
• Design, assemble, wire, and test control panels in compliance with safety and engineering standards.
• Integrate BMS and REMS with the hotel’s IT network using BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and other industry protocols.
• Monitor system performance, alarms and trends to drive energy efficiency and operational optimisation.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, backups, drawings and system records.
• Ensure compliance with hotel standards, fire & life safety, health and environmental regulations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Industrial Automation, Electrical & Electronics, Controls or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a BMS or automation role.
• Familiarity with major BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Johnson Controls or Distech.
