Category Specialist – Senior Buyer

About the role

As a Category Specialist (Senior Buyer) you will join Hitachi Energy’s Dammam operations to drive supply‑chain excellence. You will implement sourcing strategies, manage supplier performance and ensure material availability while delivering cost‑competitive solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead procurement for defined material groups, achieving timely availability, cost savings, quality and service targets.
• Implement and monitor SCM practices such as strategic sourcing, risk management and supplier quality.
• Develop and execute regional/global sourcing strategies in partnership with Category Managers.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluation and contract administration.
• Support bid and proposal teams with market intelligence and sourcing inputs.
• Collaborate with engineering, planning and fulfillment to secure material flow for production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, purchasing and supply‑chain management.
• Strong communication, influencing and results‑orientation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• Preferred certifications: CPSM or PMP.
