Civil Engineer - Airport Projects

About the role

Egis Group is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with airport project experience to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The engineer provides technical expertise, design review, construction supervision, quality assurance and multidisciplinary coordination as part of the PMC team delivering airport infrastructure and building-related projects. The role focuses on planning, reviewing and supervising airside civil works such as aprons, pavements, taxiway interfaces, internal roads, earthworks, drainage, site investigations and surveys.

Key responsibilities

• Review and supervise the design and construction of aircraft aprons, taxiways, airside pavements, service roads and airport infrastructure.
• Oversee pavement engineering, including rigid, flexible, heavy-duty and aircraft stand pavements.
• Monitor earthworks, grading, excavation, compaction, drainage and roadworks in operational airports.
• Review and coordinate geotechnical investigations, borehole surveys, topographical surveys and GPR scanning.
• Assess survey data, geotechnical reports, pavement designs, utility investigations and construction methods.
• Coordinate interfaces with AGL, drainage, utilities, fuel hydrants, ICT/CNS, electrical, structural, architectural and MEP systems.
• Conduct design reviews at Concept, Schematic, Detailed Design, Tender and IFC stages.
• Review RFIs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, NCRs and as-built documentation.
• Perform site inspections and monitor contractor performance, workmanship, quality control and testing.
• Support PMC and project management teams with technical reporting, issue resolution, stakeholder coordination and progress monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (professional engineering certification preferred).
• 9+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Minimum 3 years of airport, aviation or airside infrastructure project experience preferred.
• Proven experience in airside civil works, pavement engineering, airport roads, earthworks, geotechnical investigations, surveys and design review.
• Knowledge of airport standards including ICAO Annex 14, GACAR, FAA Advisory Circulars, ASTM, AASHTO and the Saudi Building Code.
• Preferred: PMC, consultancy or client-side supervision background, and familiarity with operational airport environments and airside constraints.

• BIM, CDE or EDMS experience is an advantage
