Commercial Director

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Director to lead the commercial function for major construction projects in Riyadh. The role involves overseeing all commercial activities, ensuring effective contract and cost management, and maximizing project profitability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all commercial operations from pre‑award through final project completion.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Direct contract administration, ensuring compliance and managing commercial risks.
• Oversee project budgets, cost planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash‑flow management.
• Lead procurement and subcontract management, including tendering, evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Manage and negotiate variations, claims, extensions of time, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor commercial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, finance, and executive leadership.
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
• Establish robust commercial governance, cost‑control systems, and reporting procedures.
• Mentor and develop commercial teams to drive high performance.

Required profile

• 15+ years of commercial management experience with Tier 1 main contractors.
• Proven track record delivering multi‑billion SAR construction projects, including high‑rise towers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, financial and analytical skills.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
