Commercial Director

About the role

The Commercial Director will lead commercial reporting, risk management and contract strategy for a major mixed‑use infrastructure programme in Riyadh, ensuring timely decisions to avoid schedule slippage and cost overruns.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and govern standard cost and commercial reporting formats for project management consultants (PMCs).
• Maintain databases of insurances, guarantees and warranties and manage executive risk reporting.
• Produce Project Cost Reports, Commercial Executive Reports and cash‑flow forecasts within Unifier and integrate data across platforms.
• Prepare consolidated cost reports for senior stakeholders including DevCo, BOD, Excom, Treasury, PIF and HRH.
• Develop cost benchmark reports (Tender Price Index, Professional Fees, Construction Cost) and issue templates to PMCs.
• Support programme change control procedures and provide portfolio‑wide risk management services.
• Lead contracts, risk and support service departments to ensure timely delivery of commercial deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or quantity surveying with at least 20 years post‑graduation experience.
• Professional membership such as MRICS, CIOB or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Commercial Director on large civil and infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing teams of 20+ people and handling international contracting mechanisms (FIDIC, NEC).
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• NEC and FIDIC contract knowledge.
• Project management software (e.g., Unifier).
• Advanced MS Office proficiency.
