Commercial Finance Manager

About the role

The Commercial Finance Manager leads the financial governance of complex commercial transactions and non‑standard business opportunities throughout the deal lifecycle. Partnering with sales, finance, legal and product teams, the role ensures deals are commercially sound, financially viable and compliant, driving profitable growth in technology‑driven businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Manage structuring, review and approval of complex commercial opportunities.
• Provide financial and commercial advisory on deal terms, pricing models, contract structures and business cases.
• Develop recommendations that balance customer needs, profitability and risk.
• Review agreements for financial viability, integrity and policy compliance.
• Support contract negotiations, assess payment structures and financial commitments.
• Ensure documentation and governance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
• Partner with sales to implement pricing strategies and deal packaging guidelines.
• Build medium‑ and long‑term account planning routines and brief management.
• Develop financial models, perform scenario and sensitivity analysis on key deals.
• Evaluate transaction profitability, margins, investment requirements and long‑term implications.
• Conduct financial, commercial and contractual risk assessments for strategic transactions.
• Coordinate cross‑functional reviews and approvals for complex opportunities.
• Facilitate sales booking forecasts and commercial performance reporting.
• Analyze deal pipelines, bookings and financial metrics to identify trends and risks.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end reporting and communicate performance insights.
• Maintain strong relationships with sales, finance, legal, product and business teams.
• Serve as trusted advisor on commercial finance matters and transaction structuring.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Preferred professional certifications: MBA, CFA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent.
• 8–12 years of experience in commercial finance, deal structuring or related roles.
