Commercial Head – Construction Projects

About the role

SATCO is expanding its commercial team and seeks a Commercial Head to own the commercial function across the company. Based between the Diriyah project executive office and the Riyadh head office, the role reports to the Contracts Director and works closely with the Vice President of Construction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare interim valuations and payment applications for each project and chase certified values to cash.
• Maintain live cost‑to‑complete figures, update weekly, reconcile with planning, and report monthly to division and finance.
• Manage subcontract packages: enquiry, comparison, back‑to‑back drafting, certification and final account.
• Serve notices within contractual time‑bars, keep claim records, and track variations from instruction to certified value.
• Lead commercial mobilisation for new awards: register contract terms, set budget baselines, arrange advance payments and bonds, develop subcontract procurement programmes and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Build, recruit and lead project commercial teams (approximately 18 positions across the first three projects).
• Set commercial standards across the company in alignment with the Contracts Director and recruit project commercial teams accordingly.

Required profile

• Chartered Quantity Surveyor, MRICS or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in construction contract administration, commercial management and cost control.
• Proven experience in valuation, cost‑to‑complete management, subcontract commercial management and cash‑flow forecasting.
