Commercial Operations Manager

About the role

The Commercial Operations Manager will lead the organisation's commercial activities, ensuring contracts are executed efficiently, proposals are developed on time, and customer relationships are managed effectively. This position requires strong commercial acumen, negotiation expertise, and the ability to build and guide a high‑performing team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead review, negotiation and finalisation of customer Terms & Conditions to secure favourable commercial terms.
• Coordinate with legal and internal stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure contractual compliance.
• Prepare cost sheets and commercial offers aligned with pricing strategy and margin targets.
• Submit accurate proposals in response to RFQs and tender invitations.
• Maintain the department’s internal tollgate process, ensuring all approvals and documentation are completed before submission or execution.
• Monitor customer orders through production and delivery phases, acting as the focal point for status updates and bottleneck resolution.
• Foster cross‑functional collaboration with sales, planning, finance and engineering teams.
• Drive process‑improvement initiatives to enhance commercial effectiveness and stage‑gate compliance.
• Develop and maintain reports and KPIs to track commercial performance and identify improvement areas.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial management, sales operations or contract administration, preferably in manufacturing, industrial or energy sectors.
• Proven track record negotiating customer Terms & Conditions and preparing cost‑based commercial proposals.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams across sales, finance, planning and operations.
• Strong understanding of pricing models, cost structures and proposal processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
