Construction Manager – Commercial Zone

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial works within a large mixed‑use development. The role operates in a PMC capacity, managing multiple contractors and ensuring compliance with design intent, codes, safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives on behalf of the client.

Key responsibilities

• Review and provide input on master construction schedules, phasing plans, and milestones for commercial components.
• Coordinate with design consultants to ensure construction feasibility and completeness of drawings and specifications.
• Lead day‑to‑day site management of commercial blocks, monitoring progress against baseline programmes and reporting variances.
• Implement and oversee QA/QC procedures, review method statements, ITPs, and shop drawings.
• Manage snagging, de‑snagging, punch‑list closure and progressive handover of commercial spaces.
• Support client and QS team in budget monitoring, cost control, and reviewing contractor payment applications and variation orders.
• Enforce strict HSE compliance, conduct safety audits, and promote a safety culture on high‑risk commercial activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Approximately 18 years of construction management experience, including large mixed‑use/commercial real‑estate projects.
• Proven experience working in a PMC environment or with leading project‑management firms.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Building construction techniques (reinforced concrete, steel, façade systems).
• Commercial interior and retail fit‑out coordination.
• MEP systems relevant to commercial developments.
• Knowledge of local building regulations, fire codes and authority approval processes.
• QA/QC procedures, Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and method‑statement development.
• Construction scheduling, cost control and risk mitigation.
