Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining standard costs for manufactured products, analysing variances, and ensuring accurate inventory valuation. This role supports production efficiency, pricing decisions, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain standard costing for materials, labour and overheads.
• Monitor production costs and perform material, labour and overhead variance analysis.
• Review and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), production routes and costing data.
• Analyse raw material consumption, scrap, wastage and production efficiency.
• Ensure timely financial closure of production work orders and RAF transactions.
• Perform monthly inventory valuation using FIFO, close inventory in the ERP system and coordinate physical counts.
• Investigate inventory variances, improve accuracy and prepare related journal entries.
• Assist with month‑end closing, WIP reconciliation and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare product costing, profitability and manufacturing cost analysis reports to support pricing decisions.
• Maintain compliance with costing policies, internal controls and IFRS requirements and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cost Accounting.
• 1+ years of experience in cost accounting or inventory control, preferably in a manufacturing company.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
