Cost Accountant – Manufacturing Cost Control

About the role

The Cost Accountant will manage manufacturing cost accounting, inventory valuation and cost analysis for alfanar Electric's production facilities. The role ensures accurate financial reporting and supports effective cost control across the manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities

• Record, review and validate cost transactions for materials, labor, overheads, scrap and rework; support product costing, standard cost maintenance and BOM cost validation.
• Monitor cost allocation to production orders, cost centres and manufacturing activities; support monthly cost closing and ensure accurate cost reflection in financial records.
• Support inventory valuation, material consumption analysis and stock movement validation; assist with cycle counts, stock takes and variance investigations.
• Analyze production variances (material, labour, overhead, scrap) and prepare variance reports by product, line and cost centre; coordinate with production, planning, warehouse and engineering teams.
• Prepare regular manufacturing performance reports, cost bridges and KPI dashboards; track actual costs against budget, standard cost and forecasts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, validate production order settlements, inventory movements and accruals; prepare supporting schedules for cost and variance accounts.
• Follow costing policies, internal controls and SOPs; support internal and external audit requirements and maintain documentation for cost calculations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduate level) in cost or inventory accounting.
• Ability to acquire updated technical skills related to cost accounting.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and willingness to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
