Cost Controller – Hospitality Finance

About the role

Fairmont The Red Sea is looking for a detail‑oriented Cost Controller to join its finance team in Umluj, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on monitoring departmental expenditures, preparing budgets and forecasts, and providing analysis that supports strategic decision‑making across the resort’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse departmental costs, identifying variances and trends.
• Prepare and maintain detailed cost budgets and forecasts for assigned departments.
• Conduct variance analysis and present explanations for budget deviations to management.
• Reconcile cost accounts and ensure accuracy of financial records and reports.
• Develop and implement cost‑control procedures and best practices.
• Generate regular cost reports and financial statements for internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop cost‑reduction initiatives and efficiency improvements.
• Support pricing strategies and profitability assessments through operational data analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial projections.
• Investigate cost anomalies and recommend corrective actions.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in cost accounting, financial control or a related finance role, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong proficiency in financial analysis and cost accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills for presenting financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
