Customer Engineer (Field Service)

About the role

The Customer Engineer will install, maintain, and repair financial equipment across an assigned territory, ensuring uninterrupted customer operations and high satisfaction. This field‑service position focuses on low‑complexity ATM and POS hardware, providing both reactive support and preventative maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, cable routing, equipment staging, and minor testing at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues on PCs, workstations, printers, front‑end POS systems, ATMs, kiosks, and single‑pocket proof encoders.
• Execute modular swaps, unit replacements, and Tier I repairs, following security procedures for financial devices.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory, record‑keeping, and reporting of service calls, expenses, and asset information.
• Escalate unresolved incidents to appropriate teams while keeping customers informed.
• Travel daily within the territory, often carrying tools and parts weighing up to 50 lb.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with the ability to build informal communication channels.
• Physical ability to lift, bend, squat, and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and handle prolonged travel.
