Customs Classification Broker

About the role

We are seeking a Customs Classification Broker to join our Customs Clearance team at King Abdul Aziz Port – Dammam Bonded and Export Zone. The incumbent will be responsible for accurately classifying import, export, re‑export, transit and bonded‑zone shipments in compliance with ZATCA regulations and the GCC Integrated Customs Tariff.

Key responsibilities

• Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and technical specifications.
• Determine and verify the correct HS Code, duty rate and applicable tariff treatment for each shipment.
• Classify goods according to ZATCA regulations, GCC customs tariffs and Harmonized System rules.
• Identify prohibited or restricted items and obtain required government approvals.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, customs specialists, operations, warehousing and other internal departments.
• Support the preparation and submission of customs declarations for all movement types.
• Respond to classification queries, inspections and document requests from customs authorities.
• Maintain accurate classification records and an approved HS Code database.
• Monitor changes to customs regulations, tariff schedules and permit requirements.
• Escalate any discrepancies, prohibited goods or compliance concerns immediately.

Required profile

• High‑school diploma; a degree in Customs, Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, Engineering, Chemistry or related field is preferred.
• Relevant experience in customs classification or customs‑clearance operations.
• Strong knowledge of HS Codes, ZATCA regulations and GCC customs tariffs.
• Good communication skills in Arabic and English.
• High level of accuracy, integrity and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ZATCA customs platform.
• Experience using the Fasah system or similar customs software.
• Expertise in HS Code classification and tariff interpretation.
