Cyber Security Defense Senior Specialist

About the role

The Cyber Security Defense Senior Specialist will lead the organization’s efforts to identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities across its infrastructure, applications, and systems. This senior position coordinates penetration testing, threat hunting, and incident response activities while ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update penetration testing methodologies and conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments.
• Coordinate penetration testing, source code review, application security testing, red‑team exercises and vulnerability scanning across network segments.
• Manage threat intelligence, threat hunting, Yara and Sigma scanning, and produce remediation reports for the IT department.
• Monitor and investigate cybersecurity events, act as first responder, maintain an incident repository and drive containment strategies.
• Oversee SOC monitoring, SIEM health, use‑case creation, and ensure vendor compliance with SLAs.
• Maintain vulnerability management KPIs, track remediation status and collaborate with IT security teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience with security assessment tools, vulnerability management and penetration testing.
• Professional certifications such as GCIH, CTIA, CDFE, OSCP, CEH or OSWA are highly desirable.
