Data Engineering Team Leader

About the role

Play the role of data ownership on behalf of the business, representing the division in the executive governance committee and leading data initiatives at the divisional level. The role bridges business units and data management functions, ensuring data stewardship follows the enterprise data management model.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute data stewardship policies, procedures and controls for all data sources.
• Perform day‑to‑day activities ensuring processes comply with established policies.
• Manage data stewardship at the divisional level and act as the single point of contact for business data needs.
• Liaise with business areas to incorporate their requirements and represent them in the Enterprise Data Governance Committee.
• Promote standards and a consistent view of business data across the division.
• Educate business units on the importance of data and information in driving performance.
• Supervise relationships with data consumers and guide sub‑ordinates in enterprise data stewardship.
• Lead the Enterprise Data Steward Unit by setting objectives, recruiting staff, managing performance and providing feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management Systems or Computer Science; Master’s degree in MIS preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in data and information management within banking.
• Advanced English language proficiency.
• Strong understanding of the bank’s strategy, objectives and regulations.
• Ability to present information effectively to top management.
• In‑depth project management knowledge.
