Datacenter Engineer (Saudi National) - Riyadh

About the role

DeepSource Technologies is hiring a Datacenter Engineer (Saudi National) in Riyadh on a contract basis. The role covers data center migration, disaster recovery and modernization work, producing runbooks that contain environment details, contact information and the steps needed to complete each task.

Key responsibilities

• Collect information through data gathering and interviews, then create runbooks covering DR activities (activation, dry runs, drills), application migration and DC modernization.
• Test runbooks and govern them according to defined requirements.
• Take part in the discovery, planning and execution phases of data center migrations.
• Conduct workshops, prepare migration strategies, plans, runbooks and status reports.
• Manage stakeholders and negotiate with them.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent; a Data Engineering certificate is preferred.
• Experience in data center migration discovery, planning and execution phases.
• Experience delivering engagements under PRINCE2, PMP or TOGAF frameworks is desirable.
• Experience presenting at a user group, trade show or similar is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Cloud technologies and migration methodologies, and good knowledge of virtualization platforms (preferably vSphere, Hyper-V) and containerization platforms (preferably OCP).
• Enterprise IT architecture: storage and backup configuration, OS deployment and management, network components.
• IT service management knowledge and understanding of ITSM frameworks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (data modeling and analysis); automated discovery tools such as Device 42 or vRNI.
• Certifications: CCNA, network essentials, CompTIA Network+, ITIL V3/V4 Foundation, and certification from a major cloud provider.
