Design Engineer (Manufacturing)

About the role

The Design Engineer (Manufacturing) will lead the engineering design, analysis, and documentation of heavy fabricated equipment such as pressure vessels, piping systems, and process equipment. The role ensures all designs comply with ASME codes, NACE standards, relevant pipeline codes, and client specifications while meeting safety, manufacturability, and cost objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with ASME, NACE, pipeline codes, and client requirements.
• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, including GA, fabrication, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
• Select appropriate materials based on process conditions, corrosion considerations, and standards (ASTM, ASME, API) and review material test certificates.
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, QA/QC, and Procurement teams to support fabrication, welding, and inspection.
• Interface with customers, third‑party inspectors, and consultants to interpret specifications and obtain approvals.
• Conduct internal design reviews, support HAZOP and risk assessments, and ensure documentation for code compliance.
• Identify design optimization opportunities, standardize practices, and stay updated on code revisions.

Required profile

• Ability to work in compliance with client quality, safety, and environmental management systems.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8.
• Familiarity with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 and relevant pipeline codes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
• Experience with mechanical design calculations (thickness, stress analysis, nozzle loads, supports).
• Understanding of material standards (ASTM, ASME, API) and corrosion considerations.
• Ability to generate fabrication drawings, isometrics, and BOMs.
