Design Engineer – Roads and Utilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to lead the design and coordination of roads, drainage, utilities and related infrastructure for a major airport renovation project. You will produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation while ensuring full compliance with airport standards, safety requirements and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design of road geometry, pavement structures, intersections, access routes, drainage systems and traffic management solutions.
• Develop utility network designs covering stormwater, potable water, sewerage, irrigation, fire water, electrical and telecommunications systems.
• Prepare and review detailed drawings, layouts, specifications, BOQs and technical studies.
• Coordinate with architectural, MEP, structural and construction teams to resolve design interfaces and technical issues.
• Support site inspections, design reviews, construction activities and provide timely technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi regulations, aviation requirements, international standards and project specifications.
• Identify design gaps, utility clashes and manage technical queries, value‑engineering proposals and design changes.
• Maintain technical records, design‑review comments and documentation through the project document‑management system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on large‑scale airport renovation or similar infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi regulations, aviation standards and international design codes.
• Proven ability to liaise with consultants, authorities, internal departments and airport stakeholders.
