Design Engineer – Transformer Design

About the role

Siemens Energy is looking for a Design Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical design expertise, especially in transformer design. You will work on primary and secondary transformer projects, ensuring they meet customer specifications and international standards while contributing to the company’s sustainable energy mission.

Key responsibilities

• Perform power transformer design, focusing on external design and main layout.
• Participate in design reviews, project kick‑off, and technical clarification meetings.
• Provide technical guidance to production teams and resolve design issues during manufacturing.
• Clarify customer technical inquiries related to transformer specifications.
• Support procurement by localising component suppliers with technical input.
• Assist service teams with technical problems during installation, operation, and maintenance of transformers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Design, Power Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in transformer final‑assembly and main‑layout design preferred.
• Familiarity with control and protection system design is a plus.
• Strong English reading/writing skills; Arabic proficiency is advantageous.
• Willingness to be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.
• Problem‑solving ability and collaborative mindset.
