Director, Category Strategy & Department Performance

About the role

Lead and manage a department category strategy, execution, and team performance to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets. The role is responsible for driving category P&L performance and profitability while increasing sales and market share.

Key responsibilities

• Own category P&L performance and profitability
• Develop strategies increasing sales and market share
• Optimize assortment and pricing for margin gains
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiation outcomes
• Deliver KPI‑driven team performance and execution

Required profile

• 5+ years category management or merchandising experience
• Proven leadership experience managing teams
• Strong analytical skills with retail/commercial KPIs
• Experience with pricing, assortment, and promotion planning
• Knowledge of procurement and vendor negotiation practices
• Familiarity with category management frameworks
• Assortment planning and forecasting expertise
• Pricing optimization and promotion planning capabilities
• P&L management and KPI reporting experience
• Supply/vendor negotiation basics
