Director – Commercial Design Planning

About the role

The Director of Commercial Design Planning leads the development and execution of commercial design frameworks for airport projects. This senior position ensures that design activities meet operational requirements, regulatory compliance, and strategic objectives while delivering innovative and efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the Commercial Design business plan and align it with the overall KSIADC strategy.
• Develop and implement operational plans, budgets, and schedules for commercial design projects.
• Coordinate with Airport Master Planning, procurement, and external design consultants to define design needs and select suitable partners.
• Maintain up‑to‑date design policies, incorporate regulatory changes, and adapt global standards to local requirements.
• Lead design review meetings, oversee project deliverables, and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Manage budgeting processes, monitor expenditures, and report deviations.
• Define and maintain comprehensive design review checklists for all design phases.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in commercial design planning, preferably within the aviation or large‑scale infrastructure sector.
• Strong understanding of airport operational requirements, aviation regulations, and industry standards.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans, manage budgets, and oversee complex projects.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal teams, external consultants, and procurement functions.
