Director of Commercial – Luxury Hotel

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Commercial leads the overall commercial strategy for Sofitel Jabal Omar Makkah. The role is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth, increasing market share and strengthening the luxury brand positioning across all hotel segments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the hotel’s commercial strategy aligned with brand standards and market conditions.
• Lead the annual commercial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting and business plan creation.
• Identify new revenue opportunities across rooms, restaurants, wellness, meetings & events and ancillary streams.
• Monitor market dynamics, competitor activity and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Direct the Sales function for corporate, leisure, wholesale, government, luxury travel, groups and MICE segments.
• Strengthen relationships with key corporate accounts, travel partners, luxury consortia, government entities and tourism stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance and Regional Commercial teams to align initiatives with operational capabilities and financial objectives.
• Oversee Revenue Management, Marketing, Digital & Communications, Distribution, Reservations and Business Development to ensure an integrated commercial approach.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in commercial management within luxury hospitality.
• Strong strategic thinking with a track record of delivering revenue growth and market share gains.
• Excellent understanding of the cultural and religious context of Makkah.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations, Finance and regional teams.
