Director of Logistics – District Construction

About the role

The District Logistics Director is responsible for shaping and executing the construction logistics strategy across one or several districts. This senior leadership role ensures that logistics planning is fully integrated with district development programmes, infrastructure delivery and venue activation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the district construction logistics strategy, operating model, governance and performance standards.
• Translate city‑wide logistics requirements into coordinated district plans and oversee their delivery.
• Direct the preparation, review and implementation of District Logistics Plans and integrate them with master plans, procurement and construction packages.
• Manage construction access, haul routes, traffic management, temporary facilities and staging areas.
• Lead stakeholder coordination with contractors, consultants, infrastructure teams and authorities, chairing logistics meetings and resolving conflicts.
• Establish monitoring, assurance and reporting mechanisms for logistics performance and enforce compliance.
• Oversee logistics planning for testing, commissioning, venue activation and phased asset handover, and manage the transition of temporary logistics arrangements.
• Drive continuous improvement through performance analysis, lessons learned and digital reporting tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Transport Planning or a related discipline.
• Minimum 18 years of relevant experience, including senior leadership in construction logistics.
• Proven experience delivering logistics strategy for large‑scale, multi‑package developments.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
