Director of Rooms

About the role

The Director of Rooms oversees all operational aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, Spa and Recreation, ensuring standards are met for the brand and the hotel. The role is accountable for revenue performance, cost control, staff development and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in development and preparation of the hotel’s strategic plan.
• Prepare and monitor the budget, revenues and profit & loss.
• Coordinate with Revenue Management and Sales to maximize occupancy, rates and profitability.
• Control duty rosters and labour costs to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Conduct interviews, manage recruitment and create career development plans for talent and high‑potential employees.
• Oversee operational tasks, delegate responsibilities and follow up on execution.
• Review and improve work‑flows, procedures and policies across the Rooms Division.
• Ensure safety procedures are up‑to‑date and conduct daily walk‑throughs to maintain quality and cleanliness.
• Maintain high visibility with guests and staff and achieve at least an 85 % score in LQA inspections.
• Lead pre‑opening activities where applicable and adapt responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Required profile

• Fluent Arabic speaker.
• Minimum two years experience in a comparable Director of Rooms position.
