Director of Security – Luxury Resort

About the role

InterContinental The Red Sea, a new five‑star oasis on Shura Island, is seeking an experienced Director of Security to lead its security department. You will ensure the safety of guests, staff, and resort assets while supporting the opening of this flagship luxury property.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive security strategies, policies and procedures for the entire resort.
• Lead, manage and train a high‑performing security team, fostering vigilance and guest‑service orientation.
• Conduct regular risk assessments of guest areas, event spaces, restaurants and back‑of‑house operations.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of all security systems, including CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Manage security incidents, conduct investigations and produce detailed reports for senior management.
• Serve as primary liaison with local law enforcement, government agencies and emergency services.
• Develop and implement crisis management and emergency response plans, ensuring team readiness.
• Administer the security department budget, forecasting and resource allocation.
• Ensure full compliance with local safety and security regulations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a senior security management role, preferably within a five‑star hotel or luxury resort.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a sizable security team.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving, organisational and decision‑making capabilities.
• Ability to remain calm and authoritative in high‑pressure situations.
• Fluency in English; Arabic knowledge is highly advantageous.
• Relevant degree or professional certification in security management or a related field is preferred.
