Electrical Design Engineer – LV Systems

About the role

SYSTRA is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its specialised technical group in Riyadh. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will focus on low‑voltage (LV) electrical management systems for metro projects, covering stations, tunnels and related infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Review design equipment layouts such as LV switchboards, MCC switchboards and automatic transfer switchboards (ATS).
• Assess installation and routing of LV cables, lighting, small‑power, fire‑alarm, BMS, earthing and lightning‑protection systems.
• Validate cable sizing, raceway calculations, short‑circuit and voltage‑drop analyses.
• Perform lighting illumination level studies using DIALux, AGI32 or similar tools.
• Check riser and single‑line diagrams, circuiting and interconnection schematics for LV systems.
• Review cable load schedules, termination drawings and shop‑drawing details.
• Calculate overall electrical loads for project design packages.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of experience in LV electrical design for metro or similar transport projects.
• Proven ability to conduct technical design reviews and produce accurate calculations.
• Strong understanding of NEC standards and LV management system requirements.
