Electrical Engineer – Generator Fleet & Power Solutions

About the role

Express Rental Company seeks an Electrical Engineer to ensure the reliability of its 20–2,000 kVA generator fleet and to plan, install and commission low‑ and high‑voltage power solutions at customer sites across Saudi Arabia.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise preventive maintenance of generators (20–2,000 kVA) and diagnose/repair faults in AVRs, excitation, windings, controllers, breakers and protection relays.
• Conduct insulation resistance, winding, load‑bank and protection tests before dispatch and after return, maintaining up‑to‑date service records.
• Survey sites, confirm load, cable sizing, earthing and protection, and install/commission gensets, distribution boards and ATS/AMF panels.
• Commission multi‑set synchronized systems, load sharing, generator‑to‑grid paralleling and set up temporary substations and HT/LT distribution (transformers, RMUs, switchgear, panels).
• Provide emergency breakdown support, size generators from load data, prepare single‑line diagrams, method statements and technical proposals, enforce LOTO and safety procedures, and lead technicians.

Required profile

• B.E./B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with 5–8 years of experience on diesel generators, including at least 3 years in rental, power projects or field service.
• Hands‑on LT installation and HT switching experience; has commissioned at least one multi‑set synchronized installation.
• Saudi Council of Engineers registration (or eligibility) and a valid Saudi driving licence (or ability to obtain).
• Good English; Arabic, Hindi or Urdu a plus; willing to travel across KSA and respond to call‑outs.

Required skills

• Experience with diesel generators (20–2,000 kVA) and related components (AVR, excitation, windings, controllers, breakers, protection relays).
• Conducting insulation resistance, winding, load‑bank and protection testing.
• Surveying sites, cable sizing, earthing, protection design, and installing/commissioning gensets, distribution boards, ATS/AMF panels.
• Commissioning multi‑set synchronized systems, load sharing, generator‑to‑grid paralleling, temporary substations, HT/LT distribution (transformers, RMUs, switchgear, panels).
• Familiarity with Cummins, Perkins, TATA, Kohler, Kubota engines; Stamford, Leroy Somer alternators; DeepSea, ComAp, SmartGen, PowerCommand controllers; LT up to 1,000 V; HT 11 kV/13.8 kV/33 kV.
