Electrical Engineer – Makkah (Medium Voltage)

About the role

International Real Estate Partners (IREP) seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a high‑profile project in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on medium‑voltage (13.8 kV and above) power systems, ensuring reliable delivery for a landmark religious and cultural site.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise installation of MV electrical systems, panels, cable trays and wiring.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and load calculations for compliance.
• Conduct site inspections, verify grounding, insulation resistance and load balancing.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with MEP, fire safety and architectural teams.
• Track non‑conformances, support rectification works and close technical issues.
• Maintain inspection logs, progress records and red‑line documentation.
• Assist in preparing as‑built records and O&M documentation for facilities‑management handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical (Power) Engineering.
• 8‑10 years of hands‑on experience with medium‑voltage systems, MV transformers, switchgear and protection.
• Experience in testing and commissioning of substations and grid equipment.
• Familiarity with IEC, NEC and Saudi/GCC electrical codes and safety standards.
• Preferable experience with substation design and arc‑flash safety.

• SCADA integration and turnkey power solutions.
