Electrical Maintenance Lead Engineer

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance Lead Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all electrical maintenance activities across the plant. This role ensures high reliability of generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS, motors and related ancillary systems while fostering a safe, collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all electrical assets.
• Schedule and execute maintenance tasks to minimise production disruption.
• Lead, mentor and supervise a team of electrical engineers and technicians.
• Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of electrical failures.
• Plan and oversee electrical maintenance projects and upgrades, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager in budgeting, monitor expenditures and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Manage spare parts inventories, prepare purchase requisitions and evaluate supplier quotations.
• Ensure all activities comply with industry standards, environmental regulations and corporate procedures.
• Maintain detailed records, generate reports and track KPIs for management review.
• Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices and new technologies.
• Support design review, installation, commissioning and trial operation phases.
• Develop and maintain master equipment lists, O&M manuals and CMMS data.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading electrical maintenance teams.
• Strong background in preventive and corrective maintenance of generators, transformers, switchgear, UPS and motors.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Experience managing budgets, resources and procurement processes.
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations and environmental compliance.
• Familiarity with CMMS implementation and equipment documentation.
