Electrical Project Engineer – Substation Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to lead the electrical scope of construction and commissioning projects, focusing on sub‑station works for the Molida sub‑station. The role involves coordinating with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) teams, contractors and vendors to deliver safe, timely and compliant electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and supervise the installation of transformers, switchgear, protection & control panels and LV/MV distribution equipment.
• Review and approve drawings, BOQs, method statements and manage contracts, schedules and progress reporting.
• Lead testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, including megger, insulation resistance and relay testing.
• Handle SEC site inspections, energisation, hand‑over and maintain as‑built documentation and O&M manuals.

Required profile

• BSc in Electrical Engineering with SEC Approved Engineer status and valid SCE registration.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on site experience on 33/13.8 kV GIS/AIS sub‑stations.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, IEC and local SEC standards (SAES, SEC Specs, protection schemes).
• Proven experience working with the Saudi Electricity Company and handling SEC approvals.

Required skills

• Design and installation of transformers, switchgear and protection panels.
• Cable laying, termination, jointing and routing for LV/MV systems.
• Earthing, lightning protection and standby power systems.
• Use of testing equipment such as megger, insulation resistance meters and relay test sets.
• Basic CAD/BIM reading and MS Office proficiency.
