About the role
The Electrical Technician is the workshop specialist responsible for diagnosing, repairing and calibrating vehicle electrical, electronic and high‑voltage systems on conventional, hybrid and fully electric BYD models. The role ensures accurate diagnostics, safe handling of high‑voltage components and compliance with OEM standards.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex electrical faults, including CAN‑bus, body control modules, infotainment and power‑train electronics.
- Perform advanced fault tracing using OEM diagnostic tools, scan platforms and electrical testing equipment.
- Execute ECU flashing, software updates and control‑module programming according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Carry out ADAS sensor alignment, calibration, key coding and immobilizer programming.
- Service high‑voltage systems: battery health checks, isolation testing, inverter and electric‑motor inspection, and HV wiring verification.
- Maintain and calibrate HV diagnostic tools such as insulation testers and milliohm meters.
- Follow strict high‑voltage safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, system isolation and PPE usage.
- Document all diagnostic steps, fault codes and repair actions in the Dealer Management System and OEM warranty portals.
- Provide technical support to general technicians and escalate unresolved cases to OEM technical helplines.
Required profile
- Proven experience with vehicle electrical and high‑voltage diagnostics in an automotive workshop.
- Familiarity with OEM safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures and proper PPE usage.
- Ability to work independently and support the workshop team on complex cases.
