Electromechanical Technician – Automation & Control

About the role

We are seeking an Electromechanical Technician to maintain and optimise automation and control systems in wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and lift stations. The role involves preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of instrumentation and control equipment to ensure reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair faults in PLC, SCADA, HMI, RTU, VFD and field instrumentation.
• Calibrate, test, install and commission pressure, flow, level, temperature and analytical instruments.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop diagrams and control logic to carry out maintenance.
• Monitor control system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, calibration certificates and work reports in the CMMS.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to plan activities with minimal disruption.
• Assist in installation, modification and upgrading of instrumentation and control systems.
• Support emergency breakdown response and on‑call maintenance as required.
