Engineering Specialist – Mechanical (Static & Rotating Equipment)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Specialist – Mechanical focused on static and rotating equipment to lead technical activities across gas processing facilities. The role involves design, construction, commissioning and ongoing support to ensure equipment reliability, integrity and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical support for operations and maintenance, troubleshooting static and rotating equipment.
• Develop engineering design packages for new installations, modifications and upgrades.
• Review engineering studies, project proposals and detailed designs for compliance and quality.
• Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, start‑up and Turnaround & Inspection activities.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation, technical drawings, PFDs, P&IDs and isometric drawings.
• Evaluate system performance, identify energy‑efficiency opportunities and recommend improvements.
• Lead technical studies, feasibility assessments and engineering evaluations for new and existing facilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas or industrial processing facilities.
• Experience in gas processing or shale‑gas plants; modular skid‑mounted units a plus.

Required skills

• Design, specification and selection of pressure vessels, separators, heat exchangers and storage tanks.
• Static and rotating equipment engineering principles.
• Creation and maintenance of PFDs, P&IDs and isometric drawings.
• Equipment testing, commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Performance monitoring and technical reporting.
• Compliance with HSE requirements, industry codes (e.g., ASME, API) and engineering standards.
