Experienced Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join a globally distributed product ecosystem built on open‑source technology and the open web. The role is fully remote, based in Saudi Arabia, and involves working on a variety of products such as publishing, e‑commerce, content management and communication platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, improve and maintain software across a diverse product ecosystem, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Participate in the full engineering lifecycle: problem analysis, solution design, implementation, testing, code review, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, applying systematic debugging across multiple technology layers.
• Collaborate asynchronously with globally distributed engineering teams through written communication, code reviews and shared development practices.
• Contribute to open‑source projects and adopt AI‑assisted development tools to boost productivity.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience delivering production‑quality software at scale.
• Comfortable working with multiple programming languages and frameworks; familiarity with PHP and JavaScript is valuable.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, abstraction, system behavior and trade‑offs.
• Excellent debugging, problem‑solving and communication skills in a fully remote environment.
• Willingness to travel 3–4 weeks per year for in‑person team meetups.
