Experienced Tweel Operator – Float Glass Production

About the role

Obeikan Glass Company is looking for a skilled Tweel Operator to join its float glass production line. The successful candidate will operate and monitor the tweel and top roll system, ensuring a stable molten glass flow and supporting safe, efficient plant performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Tweel and Top Rolls to maintain continuous molten glass flow in the tin bath.
• Control working end and tin bath temperatures and other critical parameters via the Distributed Control System (DCS) to meet production targets.
• Perform routine field inspections, report equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities.
• Collaborate with Furnace, Tin Bath, Lehr, Quality, and Maintenance teams to optimise product quality and yield.
• Adhere to all safety, quality, and environmental procedures during plant operations.
• Record operational data accurately and ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Assist in troubleshooting process deviations and equipment issues.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping standards and participate in Kaizen and root‑cause analysis initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on experience as a Tweel Operator or in a similar role within a float glass plant.
• Proven ability to work under pressure in a manufacturing environment.

Required skills

• Operation of Tweel and Top Roll equipment.
• Distributed Control System (DCS) operation and process monitoring.
• Process troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
• Knowledge of float glass production processes.
• Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
