Expert Sport Architect (Stadium)

About the role

Mace is looking for an Expert Sport Architect to lead the design and delivery of football‑specific stadiums, training centres and multi‑sport facilities as part of major new‑build and redevelopment projects in Riyadh. The role combines architectural leadership with strategic project management to ensure compliance with international standards and long‑term sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop football‑specific sports facilities, including stadiums, training centres and multi‑sport grounds.
• Ensure all designs comply with international codes, standards and FIFA regulations.
• Conduct research to integrate best practices and regulatory requirements into facility design.
• Oversee construction to guarantee alignment with design intent, schedule and budget.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors and multidisciplinary teams for fast‑track project execution.
• Lead design reviews and apply EPMO methodologies for effective coordination across specialist disciplines.
• Respond to consultant and specialist requests with professionalism and accuracy.
• Validate data, reporting and analysis with strong attention to detail.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture with extensive experience in sports‑related projects.
• Proven track record as a designated expert sports architect on stadium projects, achieving FIFA compliance.
• Strong capability in identifying design challenges, implementing mitigation strategies and driving value engineering.
• Experience collaborating with design consultants, project managers and procurement teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools.
• Knowledge of industry codes, LEED/sustainability principles and FIFA regulations.
• Advanced design management methodologies and multidisciplinary coordination.
