Exploration Director – Lead Mineral Exploration Consulting

About the role

The Exploration Director will head the mineral exploration consulting practice for a leading mining and geological services provider. Reporting to the CEO and based at the Head Office in Jeddah, the role combines technical governance, business development and senior client management across Saudi Arabia and international markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the market strategy to grow the consulting portfolio in exploration, resource evaluation, geotechnical and ESG services.
• Provide strategic oversight for target generation, drilling program design and resource evaluation, ensuring compliance with JORC, NI 43‑101 and S‑K 1300 standards.
• Lead complex client engagements, monitor project scope, schedule and budget, and promote an accountability‑driven culture.
• Mentor senior geologists and technical consultants, establishing succession plans and capability development frameworks.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of progressive mineral exploration experience, including 8‑10 years in a reputable geological or mining consulting firm.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Economic Geology, Geological Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Active professional registration (e.g., P.Geo., CGeol, AusIMM) is highly desirable.
• Based in Jeddah with willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
