Faculty Member in English - Preparatory Year

About the role

Batterjee Medical College is looking for an engaging English Faculty Member to join its Preparatory Year Program. The role focuses on building academic English proficiency and communication skills to prepare students for medical and healthcare studies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver English language courses (reading, writing, listening, speaking) for preparatory year students.
• Strengthen academic writing, grammar, and communication skills, including medical terminology.
• Apply student‑centered teaching methods and use digital tools effectively.
• Utilize the Blackboard LMS and prepare assessments with ExamSoft or equivalent.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports.
• Provide academic guidance and targeted support to students with varying proficiency levels.
• Ensure compliance with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Contribute to course development, continuous improvement, and departmental activities.

Required profile

• PhD or Master’s degree in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field.
• Proven experience teaching English, preferably in preparatory or foundation programs.
• Strong background in academic English and language instruction.
• Familiarity with Blackboard LMS and other digital teaching tools.
