Field Operator

About the role

The Field Operator will conduct routine inspections and operational rounds at a wastewater treatment plant, ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently. This role requires close coordination with SCADA operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of pumps, blowers, screens, filters, tanks, valves, sludge handling and chemical dosing systems.
• Monitor and record operating parameters, equipment conditions, and process observations.
• Identify and report equipment failures, leaks, abnormal noises, vibrations, and unsafe conditions.
• Execute first‑line troubleshooting and take authorized corrective actions.
• Start, stop, change over, and operate equipment according to SOPs and SCADA coordination.
• Collect wastewater, sludge, and effluent samples following approved schedules.
• Support equipment isolation, LOTO, maintenance preparation, functional testing, and return‑to‑service activities.
• Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and shift handovers.
• Respond to alarms, trips, and emergencies per approved procedures.
• Comply with HSE requirements, report hazards, spills, and near‑misses.

Required profile

• Good working knowledge of basic wastewater treatment processes and plant equipment.
• Basic understanding of pumps, valves, blowers, screens, filters, tanks, and sludge handling systems.
• Ability to perform first‑line troubleshooting and recognize equipment abnormalities.
