Finance Lead – Riyadh

About the role

The Finance Lead will own all aspects of financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, cash‑flow management and profitability for Canon’s operations in Saudi Arabia. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role also leads a small team of finance specialists and ensures timely month‑end close and accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and finalise monthly and annual financial statements, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and profit‑and‑loss reports.
• Execute month‑end activities such as accruals, depreciation, prepaid entries, inventory provisions and other adjustments.
• Oversee daily accounting operations – payables, payments, banking, sales invoice posting and petty‑cash control.
• Supervise and mentor two finance specialists, providing guidance on accounting matters.
• Coordinate external auditors for year‑end audit and ensure compliance with US GAAP lease accounting.
• Develop, document and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
• Manage cash‑flow forecasting and reporting.
• Produce inventory reports, analyse variances and lead cross‑functional meetings with Marketing, Supply Chain and Service to meet inventory targets.
• Support the Financial Controller and act as deputy in their absence.
• Identify and implement ERP system enhancements in collaboration with ICT.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of overall work experience, with at least 4 years in a finance management role.
• Experience in multinational companies.
• Professional accounting certification (CA, CPA, CMA or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration (MBA preferred but not mandatory).
• Arabic language proficiency is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ERP systems.
• Understanding of US GAAP lease accounting.
